Welcome to Fur-evermore. By placing an order with us, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Pricing And Number Of Pets
The standard portrait price of R2,500 applies to a portrait featuring one pet only.
Each additional pet included within the same portrait requires additional design, crafting time, materials, and artistic work. For this reason, additional charges apply for portraits containing more than one pet.
The number of pets to be included in the portrait must be disclosed at the time of booking. Where additional pets are requested after a quotation has been issued or after production has commenced, Fur-evermore reserves the right to revise the quoted price accordingly.
Prices for portraits featuring multiple pets will be provided upon request or as set out in Fur-Evermore's current pricing schedule.
2. Custom Handmade Products
Each Fur-evermore portrait is lovingly handcrafted using the photographs provided by the customer. As each portrait is individually handmade, no two pieces will be exactly alike. Minor variations in color, texture, size, and artistic detail may occur and are a natural part of the handmade creation process.
Customers acknowledge that each portrait is an "artistic interpretation" of the photographs supplied and that the final artwork may not be an exact photographic replica of the pet.
Each pet journal is custom-designed and personalized specifically for the customer’s pet and forms part of the unique handcrafted nature of the Fur-evermore experience.
3. Memorial Portrait Policy
At Fur-evermore, we understand that a memorial portrait is much more than a piece of artwork—it is a meaningful tribute to a beloved companion and a special way to honour their memory.
Each memorial portrait is individually handcrafted with great care and attention using the photographs provided by the customer. While every effort is made to capture your pet's likeness, character, and unique features, the finished portrait remains an artistic interpretation created by hand and is not intended to be an exact photographic replica.
Customers acknowledge that artistic style and interpretation are subjective by nature, and that reasonable variations between the supplied photographs and the finished portrait do not constitute defects or faults in the artwork.
4. Photograph Requirements Policy
By submitting photographs to Fur-evermore, the customer confirms that the photographs accurately represent the pet and contain sufficient detail for portrait creation. The customer further confirms that they have the necessary rights and permission to provide the photographs for use in creating the portrait.
The customer is responsible for providing clear, high-quality reference photographs that accurately show the pet's features, colouring, markings, expression, and any specific details they would like included in the portrait. Where possible, photographs should be provided from multiple angles to assist with accurate artistic interpretation.
The quality, accuracy, and level of detail in the finished portrait are directly influenced by the quality and clarity of the reference photographs supplied. Fur-evermore shall not be responsible for inaccuracies, omissions, or variations in the finished portrait that result from unclear, low-resolution, edited, filtered, outdated, incomplete, or otherwise unsuitable reference photographs provided by the customer.
Fur-evermore reserves the right to request additional or replacement photographs if the images supplied do not provide sufficient detail to complete the portrait to an acceptable standard. Production may be delayed until suitable photographs are received.
5. Orders, Payment and Cancellation Policy
Fur-evermore accepts a limited number of portrait commissions each month to ensure that every portrait receives the time, care, and attention it deserves. To reserve one of these limited production slots, a booking deposit of 50% (Zar R1250) is required when placing an order.
The booking deposit secures the customer's place in Fur-evermore's crafting schedule and reserves production capacity that may otherwise be offered to another customer. For this reason, the booking deposit is non-refundable once a booking has been confirmed.
The remaining balance of Zar R1250, becomes payable when the customer is notified that their portrait is ready to enter production. Work will commence only once full payment has been received.
If a customer is unable to pay the remaining balance when requested, they should notify Fur-evermore as soon as reasonably possible. Fur-evermore may, at its discretion and subject to availability, offer to reschedule the customer's production slot.
Failure to make payment or communicate within a reasonable period may result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the booking deposit.
Once production has commenced, the portrait and accompanying pet journal are custom-made and personalized specifically for the customer. Due to the significant time, skill, and materials invested in the creation process, cancellations after production has commenced will not qualify for a refund of any amounts paid.
No refunds will be provided for completed custom-made portraits and personalised pet journals, except where required by applicable law.
6. Production Timeframe Policy
Each Fur-evermore portrait is individually handcrafted and may require approximately 50–100 hours of detailed work to complete.
Each pet journal is also custom-designed and personalised specifically for the customer’s pet, forming part of the unique handcrafted nature of the order.
Estimated completion timeframes are provided as a guideline only and may vary depending on factors including order complexity, workload, material availability, customer response times, and unforeseen circumstances.
While every reasonable effort will be made to complete orders within the estimated timeframe provided, completion dates cannot be guaranteed.
Any delays resulting from the customer's failure to provide required photographs, information, approvals, or payments may result in the order being placed on hold and the estimated completion timeframe being adjusted accordingly.
Fur-evermore will endeavor to keep customers informed of any significant delays affecting the completion of their order.
7. Progress and Revision Policy
Progress photographs may be provided during production at Fur-evermore's sole discretion and are intended to offer customers insight into the creation process.
Requests for substantial changes, including but not limited to changes in pose, facial expression, colouring, markings, composition, or other major design elements after production has commenced, may not be possible and, where accepted, may incur additional charges.
The determination of whether a requested change constitutes a minor adjustment or a substantial change shall be made by Fur-evermore, taking into account the stage of production and the work required to implement the change.
Fur-evermore reserves the right to decline revision requests that would require extensive reconstruction of the portrait or that would compromise the quality or integrity of the finished artwork.
8. Right to Refuse Service
Fur-evermore reserves the right to refuse, decline, suspend, or cancel an order where it is reasonably necessary to do so, including but not limited to circumstances where:
• Insufficient or unsuitable reference photographs are provided;
• Required information, approvals, or payments are not received within a reasonable timeframe;
• A requested portrait cannot be completed to Fur-evermore's quality standards;
• The customer engages in abusive, threatening, or unreasonable conduct; or
• Circumstances beyond Fur-evermore's reasonable control prevent completion of the order.
Where an order is cancelled by Fur-evermore before production has commenced, any payments received will generally be refunded.
Where work has already commenced, Fur-evermore reserves the right to deduct reasonable amounts for work completed, materials purchased, administrative costs incurred, and any other expenses directly associated with the order before issuing any applicable refund.
9. Force Majeure
Events Beyond Our Control:
Fur-evermore shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to power outages, internet disruptions, illness, supplier shortages, courier disruptions, natural disasters, strikes, civil unrest, or government restrictions.
10. Shipping and Delivery Policy
Portraits will only be dispatched once full payment has been received.
Fur-evermore takes great care in packaging each portrait and accompanying pet journal to help ensure safe delivery.
Shipping within the borders of South Africa is included in the price of a single portrait order unless otherwise stated.
Estimated delivery time within South Africa is approximately 5–10 business days from dispatch, depending on the courier service and destination. Delivery timeframes are estimates only and cannot be guaranteed.
Once an order has been dispatched, Fur-evermore will provide the customer with any available tracking information. While delivery services are provided by independent third-party couriers, Fur-evermore will reasonably assist customers in resolving delivery-related issues where possible.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery information. Fur-evermore shall not be responsible for delays, failed deliveries, additional delivery charges, or returned parcels resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or outdated address information supplied by the customer.
International shipping is available by arrangement. Shipping costs for destinations outside South Africa are not included in the standard portrait price and will be communicated to the customer before dispatch.
For international shipments, any customs duties, taxes, import fees, clearance charges, or similar costs imposed by the destination country remain the sole responsibility of the customer.
While every reasonable effort will be made to ensure safe delivery, Fur-evermore shall not be responsible for delays caused by third-party courier services, customs processing, regulatory inspections, adverse weather conditions, strikes, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
11.Defects and Damage on Arrival
Customers are requested to inspect their order promptly upon delivery.
If a parcel, portrait, frame, or any accompanying item arrives damaged, the customer must notify Fur-evermore in writing within 48 hours of delivery and provide clear photographic evidence of the damage, including photographs of the packaging where applicable.
Fur-evermore may require additional information or photographs to assist with any courier investigation, insurance claim, or resolution process.
Failure to report transit-related damage within 48 hours of delivery may affect Fur-evermore's ability to investigate the matter or pursue a claim with the courier.
Fur-evermore shall not be responsible for damage, deterioration, loss, or alteration occurring after delivery has been completed, including damage resulting from improper handling, storage, display conditions, accidental damage, pets, children, moisture, sunlight exposure, or unauthorised modifications to the artwork.
12. Intellectual Property
All artwork, photographs, images, pet portraits, logos, branding, text, and content displayed on this website remain the property of Fur-evermore and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may browse this website and make legitimate purchases for personal use. You may not copy, reproduce, download, distribute, modify, republish, sell, or use any content from this website without prior written permission from Fur-evermore.
Fur-evermore reserves the right to photograph and share completed portrait commissions for portfolio, website, social media, advertising, and promotional purposes. If you would prefer your portrait not to be displayed publicly, please notify us in writing before production begins.
Customers may not use any Fur-evermore artwork, images, designs, branding, or content for commercial purposes without written consent.
Any misuse of this website, including fraudulent, misleading, or unauthorized activity, may result in the cancellation of orders and further action where applicable.
13. Limitation of Liability
Fur-evermore shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use of our products or services.
Our maximum liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific order giving rise to the claim.
